What to Buy Trending Products & Deals I Couldn't Make It Through Dry January Without This Tool, and It's Over 20% Off You’ll use it all year long. By Katie Brown Published on January 19, 2024 Photo: Brent Hofacker / Getty Images I usually don’t partake in Dry January. As a food and drinks writer, I’m constantly going out to eat and traveling, and in the past, I felt that an entire month without drinking wouldn’t fit very well into my lifestyle. But this year, in keeping with my New Year’s resolution to cook more, I’m aiming to dine in throughout the entire month of January — which means it’s the perfect time to try my hand at an alcohol-free month. It only took me a few days to get bored of plain water. Realizing I was missing the bold flavors and bubbly textures of my favorite cocktails, I finally snapped up a SodaStream at Amazon. Now, not only do I have plenty of flavorful drinks to choose from, but as an added bonus, I’m feeling more hydrated than ever. SodaStream Terra Sparkling Water Maker Amazon $100 $78 at Amazon The SodaStream Terra is almost too easy to use — I haven’t had a glass of boring flat water in weeks. The pack features a lightweight soda maker that comes in four different colors (black, white, misty blue, and red), one dishwasher-safe bottle, lime flavor drops, and a carbon dioxide cylinder. To set it up, all I had to do was insert the canister, fill the bottle with water, and press the button on top to get carbonating. The more times I press the button on top, the more CO2 is released, and the fizzier my water becomes. According to the brand, each canister can carbonate up to 60 liters of water at a time. This could last for months, depending on how bubbly you like your sparkling water and how much seltzer your household drinks, but since I prefer mine extra carbonated, I’ve already had to replace my cylinder after just two weeks. Luckily, it’s shockingly easy to switch out the canisters by clicking them in and out with a single swift motion. The reusable plastic bottle can replace thousands of single-use plastic bottles and aluminum seltzer cans. Not only has this saved me hundreds of dollars on my weekly grocery runs, but it’s also shrinking my environmental footprint — a win-win! I even bought a set of extra bottles to ensure I always have plenty of sparkling water lying around. And since the bottles are dishwasher-safe, they’re easy to keep clean. Once I’ve carbonated my water, the opportunities are endless. I’ve experimented with everything from non-alcoholic spritzes to homemade cola, all of which I can adjust to my personal preferences. Not only has the machine made it easy to try out my first Dry January, but it has helped me drink more water in the process . Whether you’re aiming to spend less, drink less, or hydrate more in 2024, the SodaStream is the perfect way to keep your resolutions. Snag yours today while it’s 22% off at Amazon.
