Food & Wine's Editorial Guidelines Published on November 20, 2024 Close Photo: Food & Wine / Dunkin This time of year always has everyone’s calendars bursting with holiday party invites, office happy hours, and festive dinners. And Dunkin’s is looking to capitalize on all that holiday hobnobbing by taking its much-anticipated holiday menu after-hours with its own boozy take on peppermint treats. (Yes, you heard us right.) And thankfully, the coffee chain’s spiked version of its fan-favorite Peppermint Mocha Latte doesn’t involve any complex cocktail gymnastics or outrageously priced holiday-themed bars. The Dunkin’ Spiked Peppermint Mocha Iced Latte, now available in select states, reportedly offers flavors of rich espresso and cool, chocolatey peppermint with a creamy shot of non-dairy creamer. (Lactose-intolerant and vegan folks, rejoice!) Each lightly caffeinated can clocks in at 6% ABV and is sold in four-packs of 12-ounce cans. Dunkin’s Ringing in the Holiday Season With 5 Festive Drinks and the Return of a Fan-Favorite Treat This seasonal flavor is best served in a chilled coupe with a crushed candy cane rim, but we’ve heard it’s just as tasty straight out of the can. Each Dunkin’ Spiked iced coffee also has just a hint of caffeine, which Dunkin’ says comes in around 30 milligrams per 12-ounce can. (For reference, the brand’s regular 14-ounce iced coffee has nearly 300 milligrams.) What exactly is a Dunkin’ Spiked, you might ask? Allow us to make the introduction. This lineup of canned coffees, created in partnership with Harpoon Brewery in Boston, first landed in stores last autumn. It brings the sugary-sweet flavors of the Massachusetts-based coffee chain — including a core selection of Original, Caramel, Vanilla, and Mocha iced coffees — with a distinctly boozy twist. Dunkin’ Spiked’s first limited-run seasonal flavor, the love-it-or-hate-it Pumpkin Spice Latte, dropped last autumn. As for the Peppermint Mocha itself, you’ll be able to track them down in retailers across 28 states: Alabama, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Meanwhile, the OG Peppermint Mocha is back at Dunkin’s nearly 14,000 brick-and-mortar locations for a limited time, arriving alongside a slew of other holiday drinks and treats to satisfy any ravenous sweet tooth. Standouts of this year’s rollout include the first-ever debut of Dunkin’s almond croissant, which just might make the perfect pairing for this latest Spiked flavor. Whether you’re feeling eager (or just a little bit skeptical), we can probably all agree that the holidays wouldn’t be the same without a festive coffee or two. Was this page helpful?
