Amazon Dropped a New Luxury Tiny House With So Much Space to Dine and Entertain Outdoors

Tiny homes have been taking up real estate in our thoughts lately. As someone living in Boston (home to some of America’s most expensive zip codes), I can appreciate the desire for a small home and an even smaller price tag. When I think that some of the city’s $2 million brownstones are under 1,000 square feet, it makes my head spin — I think people living in tiny homes have the right idea.  

But as a foodie, I recognize the need for a modular home to have a good kitchen. Luckily, Amazon just dropped a sleek, foldable two-story tiny house that’s fit for a home cook. Offering an open kitchen, dining room, and a spacious outdoor deck for grilling and entertaining, this house is a surprisingly great setup for entertaining, despite being, well, tiny.

The double-decker tiny home is known as a flat pack container house, meaning it’s made from durable shipping containers that are easy to assemble and can be broken down to relocate, if desired. Its overall dimensions are 117 x 114 x 238 inches, giving it a cozy 96 square feet of floor space. 

While it’s technically a tiny home, this structure has a shocking amount of usable space. Its open kitchen has room for a breakfast bar and dining table, according to the floor plan. The kitchen leads into another room, which could be used as a dining room or living room, and is outfitted with plenty of windows and doors to bathe the interior in natural light. The first floor even enjoys panoramic outdoor views, thanks to the giant floor-to-ceiling windows that run the width of the home. 

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, each with its own entrance out onto a covered balcony, which opens into a large deck with enough space to entertain or dine outdoors in. There’s also a set of exterior stairs from the deck that lead to the ground floor. The garage is integrated into the home’s design, so you’ll have a place for your car, a small home gym, or even additional storage. (We could always use some extra room to stow our pots and pans.)

The modular matte black stainless steel panels not only create a sturdy living environment, but give off chic city vibes no matter where you put your new home. Plus, thanks to its waterproof and sturdy frame, this prefab house will weather the years to come. And to think, some homes in my neighborhood have less kitchen and dining space than this luxury tiny house.
